Hope you don’t mind me emailing you but I would like to write to you about the superb week’s fishing me and Gordon have just had at Nash Resorts!

Fishing from the Channel swim, we did not actually put any fish on the bank until late Sunday evening where I had a 19lb and 25lb common carp in quick succession.

The rest of the week continued the same with the buzzers not actually starting till 12 o’clock every night! At 12 o’clock Monday night Gordon had a really strong take, which after about 15 mins of deep and powerful lunges resulted in me putting the net under a large mirror carp, it was not until I tried to lift it out of the water that I realised what a huge fish Gordon had caught! …it filled unhooking mat to the brim and upon weighing it hit the scales at a huge 60lb 5 oz !!!...Gordon’s PB by 20lb and obviously one of the stunning lake’s larger residents!

After slipping the monster into the net ready for photographs in the morning, 10 minutes later Gordon had another big take this time resulting in another huge fish, this time another mirror of 40lb this time.

The rods were then brought in and a large celebration was had between us till about 3am in the morning!!!...later on in the morning the superb David (head bailiff) came and confirmed the weights and took photos of both of the stunning fish.

Tuesday night at the usual time (yep 12 o’clock again! ) , I had a 27lb common , followed a few hours later by a 28lb common …these large lean commons fought like no other carp that I’ve known and always felt huge right up until slipping them in the landing net!

Gordon then, during the day (Weds) had a 39lb common which was stunning, basically the days consisted of resting for the crazy night time action. That night as usual at 12 pm off my rod went again and this time to put my first 30lb fish on the bank which was a common bang on the 30 mark. Later on (early hour …) I then had a 27lb common .

Thurs saw my first mirror on the bank which was a 25lb mirror at 8am, more fish followed that night with a 31lb common and early hours Friday morning a 33lb common which was 3 fish in 12 hours and 3 lost as well.

I have to say during the course of the week I lost 7 fish as well catching 11! …the best for me was saved till last and this happened in a crazy 3 hours spell on sat morning, it started at 5am with a 27lb common followed 10 mins later by losing a decent fish at the net.

Then at 8am my biggest fish of the week come out, which was a 38lb mirror which looked a 40lb all up easily, but settled the scales at my new PB of 38lb! …then 20 mins later I lost another in the lily pads so that was 4 fished hooked in just over 3 hours!!!

So the best bit of action was had on the last day as were packing up …typical!!!!

On a whole Gordon’s fish were outstanding, I broke my PB no fewer than 5 times!!! , the lake was stunning, the people great from Sam and Kathy the cooks, to David who is just superb, nothing is too much trouble for him, he knows the lake like the back of his hand and above all he’s a top man to have a social with!!!

For any doubters who listen to crap rumours about Nash lakes ( to weedy, hard to catch etc ), don’t listen the lake is awesome in every way, the swims are top notch, the fish are once in a lifetime fish and the social side of things is outstanding!!!

All in all a very special week for both of us, it’s Gordon’s 3rd trip and my second and we’re both back in November and will continue to visit on a regular basis for many years to come!!
